As a community, the extent to which we are supposed to be connected, be our brother’s keeper together and share the common values which is key to our development as a people of one nation, it anchors on our cohesiveness in the midst of our diverse point of views. If elected as your chairman, I promise to strengthen the glue that binds us together and maintain the peace and stability among us through:
- Greater and frequent recognition of our elders who for some reasons have decided to be very dormant and have less to do with the SLCU and individuals have been given their best for this union in the past. I will immediate initiate a sub-committee to reach out in different cities and at the end convey a meeting to chart a way forward with the best of ideas.
- I will ensure that our elders aging from 60yrs and above no longer pay for any SLCU events in and out of the Netherlands.
- Women empowerment-
- Ensure that my executive organises periodic seminars on marriage, enrolling in the job market, and how to raise our children in this 21st century SLCU being a leading diaspora’s platform, I will ensure that we form more partnerships with different social and entertainment groups and organisations in order to avoid negative competition in fundraising events
- Ensure that every active and participatory sister organisation benefits from the proceeds of our summer events
- Create a committee structure for 3 major executive positions- organising, PRO and welfare and development team- this will create ownership of our programs and will improve our relationship with one another.
- I will ensure that we collectively work together with all Ex-officials and make them become our ambassadors nationally and internationally.
